Frederick PolleyThe Cemetery Oaks 11 x 10 inches (plate) The drypoint was exhibited in the Hoosier Salon 1942. Polley (1875-1957), a painter-etcher, illustrator and writer, was an Indiana native and a member of the Brown County, Indiana, art colony. He executed many views of the South, including New Orleans, Louisiana, and Charleston, South Carolina, as did his Brown County colleague, L.O. Griffith. "The Cemetery Oaks" is set in St. Philip's Church Cemetery in Charleston. $350 |
