Gallery on Lewis Street in Frankfort, Ky., running from 17 April to 31
May 2009. |

- Wallace Kelly was a prolific artist who, along with
Henderson’s Malcolm Arnett, created some of the best WPA-era
images of life in Kentucky.

- Kelly, a native of Lebanon,
Kentucky, was a painter and printmaker. He also made movies, one
of which, “Our Day,“ was recently placed on the National Film
Registry by the Library of Congress.

- “City Traffic” is a painting on glass, a technique also used by
fellow Kentucky painter Harlan Hubbard, who also died in 1988.
