Mr. Kelly's works on paper are the subject of an exhibition at the Capital Gallery on Lewis Street in Frankfort, Ky., running from 17 April to 31 May 2009.
Wallace Kelly was a prolific artist who, along with Henderson’s Malcolm Arnett, created some of the best WPA-era images of life in Kentucky.

Kelly, a native of Lebanon, Kentucky, was a painter and printmaker. He also made movies, one of which, “Our Day,“ was recently placed on the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress.

“City Traffic” is a painting on glass, a technique also used by fellow Kentucky painter Harlan Hubbard, who also died in 1988.
