This New Albany, Indiana, native studied at the Cincinnati Art Academy under William Gebhardt after service in World War II. He returned to New Albany in 1948 and worked in commercial art.

He was an award-winning exhibitor in the New Albany 4th of July and Louisville (Ky.) Woman's Club shows. He had a one-man show at Schaff Gallery in Louisville and was represented by the old Merida and Swan House galleries.
