Frank Willoughby Raymond, an Iowa native, was a member of the Palette and
Chisel Academy of Fine Arts in Chicago along with Gustave Baumann, C.
Curry Bohm, Fred Larson, Laurence Mazzanovich, Edgar Payne and Walter Ufer.
He was also a member of the Chicago Society of Etchers and worked
with Martin Lewis jurying exhibitions at the Art Institute of Chicago.
Raymond studied with L.O. Griffith and shared an interest in the artist
colony of Brown County, Indiana, with Griffith, Baumann and Bohm. Raymond
died in Sacramento, California. This scene shows the legendary Grandma
Barnes feeding her chickens at her cabin in Brown County. |
